When Dil Raju spoke at the audio launch
of GS, he did not mince words when he
said that Pawan's fans not had full meals
(meaning a wholesome entertainer from
their star) for a good 11 years now. That
was definitely a bold usage because he
openly said that the Power Star did not
have a single big hit over the years.
Dil Raju is now a happy man. "It was on
April 14 last year that I saw a still of
Gabbar Singh. I tried to buy the film since
that day. It was recently okayed by Bandla
Ganesh, finally. This film, I tell you, will be
like full meals", he said in his short
speech.
The film is indeed geared up to become
the biggest hit (in terms of collections) in
Pawan's career. To be released in a record
number of centres on May 9, the film's
mass appeal and ensemble cast, which
includes, besides the hero, Shruti Hassan,
Suhasini, Kota, Brahmi, will go a long way
in perking up the film's market. DSP's
music, as said by Chiru, is the film's raison
d' etre. If the trailer released on the
occasion is anything to go by, his BGM is
an experiment.
