Neeku Naaku Dash Dash Review

Behind the Movie Neeku Naaku
Dash Dash: Coming freshly taking a
break of nearly four years, audience
awaited for something new from director
Teja. As usual following his natural trend
of introducing new artists Prince and
Nandita in leads, let us see how correctly
Teja filled the empty ‘Dashes’ in this film?
In The Movie Neeku Naaku Dash
Dash: Due to financial problems in their
respective houses, Shiva (Prince) and his
friend Toofan Babu (Suman Shetty) are
employed in Illegal Liquor Syndicate’s
manufacturing and bottling plant. In the
same factory works Gayatri (Nandita). The
entire syndicate is owned by top politicians
in State while it is guarded by local goon
Bapineedu, his personal set up Chitti Talli
(Teertha) and senior accountant cum
treasurer Asthama Rama Swamy
(Paruchuri Venkateshwar Rao). Police
Inspector (Benerjee) tries hard to bust the
syndicate but fails to find any proofs. In a
moment of rage, Gayatri falls in love with
Shiva and they both get intimate.
Meanwhile, some unexpected incidents in
Syndicate make them to run away with
huge cash stolen. Now, on one side entire
Liquor Mafia runs behind these two and on
other side they are also chased by Police.
Why did Shiva run away with this money?
How did story take twists and turns to end
up on a happy note for these love birds
form the rest of climax
Values of the Movie Neeku Naaku
Dash Dash: Looks like director Teja has
well utilized the four years of break time in
doing solid ground work for scripting this
flick. Although original concept of ‘NNDD’
is again Teja’s forte of weak boy, clever girl
running into forest like cat and mouse
game between villains and lead star cast
but the way he intermingled few mass
elements and the backdrop of liquor mafia
made this film refreshing. Even dialogues
wise Teja went for some hilarious one-
liners which are to gel well with front
benchers. Direction wise, he took utmost
care without dropping the tempo. Rasoon
Ellore’s cinematography is exceptional
offering continuous support to narration.
Editing by Kotagiri Venakteshwar Rao is
also good. Yashwant Nag’s background is
vivifying and title song is instantly catchy.
Not to forget Teja’s picturization of that
love making song is prompting. Production
values of Ananda Prasad and Bhavya
Creations are also cool.
Performance wise, Nandita will be the
winner among all for her brilliant
expressive eyes and ease in body language.
Never did she look like a new comer.
Nandita may not be an eye catching
beauty yet she was equally good in
emotional, comedy and romantic scenes.
Native Telugu female actors of this caliber
are rare find outs in Tollywood. Of course,
the hero character of Prince faded before
Nandita. He is tall and handsome though
weak in dialogue modulations. Teertha is a
hardcore sexy lady whose oomph is ready
for tapping. Though overdosed, Suman
Shetty did not miss his mark and Nalla
Venu’s timing raised the laughter.
Benerjee, Paruchuri and others are okay.
Out of the Movie Neeku Naaku Dash
Dash: Openly speaking, Teja did not
completely come out of his own drawn
periphery. Numerous episodes in the film
remind you of resemblances with ‘Jayam,
Nuvvu Nenu, Avunanna Kaadanna’ and
many such. What expanded is more of
commercial substance in Teja’s thinking.
Along with Common Sense, Teja has
shown a lot of ‘Kamam’ Sense by overtly
exploiting Teertha. Even Teja picked up his
habitual components from Trash Can to
present them with a little Polish for this
Dash Dash.
First half is neatly knitted with entertaining
comedy made as a part of story telling
along with establishment of outline. Once
second half begins, there is less of story
and more of Teja’s experience in narration
became handy. Following the trend, Teja
too has inserted two to three unnecessary
twists in climax to give some shock value
to audience. Commercially, ‘NNDD’ is
definitely a minimum guarantee film for
affluent acting of Nandita, new backdrop
of Liquor Mafia, Entertaining Comedy in
bits and pieces and all the above Teja’s
trade mark taking. Not that affective yet a
safe comeback for Teja. One has to wait
and see how the forthcoming big ticket
releases will affect this?
Verdict of the Movie Neeku
Naaku Dash Dash: Neither a Dash nor a
