Telugu Movie Review: Adhinayakudu

Written By Prashanth kumar Nagati on Sunday, June 3, 2012 | 6:28 AM

Telugu Movie Review: Adhinayakudu Adhinayakudu
Telugu movie review Adhinayakudu. Cast: Balakrishna, Lakshmi Rai, Saloni, Kota Sreenivasa Rao, Pradeep Singh Rawat, Brahmanandam, Murali Sharma and others; Director: Parachooru Murali; Producer: M.L. Padma Kumar Choudhary; Composer: Kalyani Malik; Rating: *

"Adhinayakudu" does not look like a commercial entertainer, but it may appeal to ardent fans of Balakrishna. For others, it would be difficult to endure the loud political drama.

In the film, you have to watch not one, but three Balakrishna as he is doing a triple role. His intensive dialogues carry a lot of punch and power and it can appease his fans, but his stylised acting may not be well-received by today's youngsters.

Director Parachuri Murali has made things worse by writing a script, which is full of illogical and ill-conceived sequences.

Technically, "Adhinayakudu" fails to meet the expectations because of poor production values, bad editing and below average cinematography.

The story revolves around a much respected leader Rama Krishna Prasad hailing from Rayalaseema area of Andhra Pradesh who has been targeted by his political rivals. Prasad is known for his influence in Rayalaseema's social and political landscape.

Rivals hire supari killer Kittu, who is actually senior Rama Krishna Prasad's son. Rather than doing his job, Kittu protects his father which infuriates the villains. Later the it is revealed that Rama Krishna is the son of Harischandra Prasad who was a legend in Seema politics.

Harischandra Prasad is killed by Kittu and it angers Rama Krishna Prasad and it creates a rift between father and son.

Tolerating one noisy Balakrishna is more than enough for the audiences, but in this film they have Balakrishna in three different roles and getups.

Lakshmi Rai and Saloni provide glamour quotient. Veteran artists' roles and performances do not speak much.

Kalyani Malik's music is ordinary.

Adhinayakudu review - A political package

Written By Prashanth kumar Nagati on Friday, June 1, 2012 | 11:44 PM

Rating: 3/5
Cast : Balakrishna, Lakshmi Rai, Saloni, Jayasudha,
Pradeep Rawat, Brahmanandam, Murali Sharma, Kota,
Rehaman and others
Directed by : Paruchuri Murali
Produced by : M.L.Kumar Chowdary
Banner : Sri Keerthi Combines
Music : Kalyani Malik
Release Date : 2012-06-01

Nandamuri Balakrishna fans have been treated with Simha
two years ago and the actor is due for another success
since then. His latest film Adhinayakudu has created
enough buzz with few political dialogues and mass masala
content. Did Balakrishna get it right this time? Is
Adhinayakudu a movie worth the wait?
What is it about?
Political rivals of Seema leader RamaKrishna (Balakrishna)
plans to kill him by hiring a professional killer Bobby
(Balakrishna). When Bobby realizes that Ramakrishna is
his father he starts protecting him. But there is a dark
past that separates the father and son. What is that is
revealed in the latter part of the story.
Performances:
Balakrishna gave a marvelous performance in three roles.
His body language for all the three characters in very
different and that shows the greatness of the actor.
However, he should have taken care of the makeup used
for middle aged role and the younger one. Balakrishna
dances with excellent energy and that is a treat to watch.
Lakshmi Rai plays the role of a glam doll. Pradeep Rawat's
villainy is Okay. Kota Srinivasa Rao is good and Murali
Sharma is natural. Jayasudha steals the show in sentiment
scenes. Brahmanandam's funny alien comedy works in
parts. Rest of the cast did their best.
On the Technical Front:
Kalyani Malik's music is passable. Songs in the second half
are good. Background score is alright. Cinematography is
good. Editing is adequate. Dialogues are written by the
director himself and there are ample dialogues to get
whistles from the fans.
Paruchuri Murali handled the scenes on middle aged role
and old age role with great command. Had he taken good
care on the scenes of young Balakrishna, it would have
been much better than what it is now.
Analysis:
First half of the film concentrates on entertainment factor.
Scenes on Balakrishna and Brahmanandam provide comic
relief. Watch out for the introduction scene of
Brahmanandam. Lakshmi Rai provides the mass masala
factor. However the scenes on her have been dragged a
bit too much.
Story gathers pace as the second character of Balakrishna
enters the show. He takes the film to the next level and
the movie reaches a high at the interval point. Second half
is much better with nice family drama and political drama
taking the driving seat.
However, inconsistency in screenplay mars the show.
There is a good scene and it is followed up with a downer.
More or less the graph is same throughout the second
half. Nevertheless it will be liked by Balakrishna fans.
There is not much in offer for families and female crowds.
Masses may like to see Balakrishna in three different
avatars.
Verdict: Adhinayakudu is Balakrishna's show!

Two Flop Heroes cashing on Sexy Heroine

Both of these heroes were care of address for BO
blockbusters some time ago. Currently, they are passing
through a lean phase waiting for a right break. No
guesses, they are Stylish Star Allu Arjun and Mass Maharaj
Raviteja. Severely disappointed with continuous failures,
they have high hopes pinned upon upcoming flicks ‘Julaayi’
and ‘Devudu Chesina Manushulu’ respectively. One
common factor in both of them is slender ileana .
Some time ago, first look of ‘Julaayi’ was released and
audience found sexy Goa babe going further lean in frame
and as usual her major asset of hip portion was definitely
luring. Now, ‘DCM’ has also got same spice from ileana
offering a feast of her beauties in the very first look
released into the market. Perhaps, ileana ’s career is also
in doldrums and she can go to any extent in satisfying the
audience with her titillating physique. It is to be seen, who
among Raviteja and Bunny will cash upon Illi babe to the
max?
