Samsung’s new Galaxy S III phone REVIEW , SPECIFICATIONS

Written By Prashanth kumar Nagati on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 | 1:02 AM

Samsung’s new Galaxy S III phone, next to an iPhone 4S - AP
Samsung’s new Galaxy S III phone, next to an iPhone 4S - AP

The Galaxy's screen measures 4.8 inches diagonally, compared with 3.5 inches for the iPhone. That translates to a display area that's nearly twice the size. Yet the Galaxy is thinner and lighter.
Until I started watching videos on Samsung's new Galaxy S III phone, I never thought of the iPhone's display as small.
Apart from that, the Galaxy shares the iPhone's curvy and shiny design, along with a center button that wakes up the device from power-saving mode or takes you from whatever you're doing to a home screen.
Unlike the iPhone, the Galaxy runs on faster 4G cellular networks (AT&T markets its iPhones as 4G, but the network is based on older technology). The Galaxy also comes with a new wireless technology called near-field communications, which can be used to share files and make purchases.
Pictures taken with the Galaxy were sharper and had better light balance than those with the iPhone, based on a handful of test shots I took. The Galaxy's tool for measuring data usage - for those of us no longer on unlimited plans - surpasses what comes with the iPhone.
All that makes the Galaxy a strong contender to Apple's popular device.
I understand the comparison isn't entirely fair. The iPhone 4S is about eight months old, and there's a new model expected this fall. Last week, Apple previewed changes to the phone's operating system, promising improvements to its Siri virtual assistant, a mapping service with voice navigation and more.
But the reality is the new Galaxy is available this week - not in September or October.
All four national wireless companies and regional carrier U.S. Cellular will sell the Galaxy, which runs the latest operating software from Google, a flavor of Android known as Ice Cream Sandwich.
The basic model with 16 gigabytes of memory will cost $200 with a two-year contract through AT&T, Verizon Wireless, Sprint and U.S. Cellular. That's comparable to the iPhone's $199. A 32 GB model will cost $250, which is cheaper than a comparable iPhone at $299. T-Mobile will charge at least $30 more than others, though it may still be cheaper overall with lower monthly data fees over two years.
The Galaxy phones will be available in white or blue. AT&T will also have a red version this summer, but it won't carry the 32 GB model.
Now back to Galaxy's screen.
The Galaxy shines when displaying widescreen video. That's because much of the display's increase is in width rather than in height when the phone is held on its side, or landscape mode. The iPhone wastes some display real estate to make wider videos fit. There are unused strips of black above and below those videos.
When watching a foreign movie through a Netflix app, the Galaxy's larger screen makes the subtitles much easier to read. I can read them fine on the iPhone, but my eyes kept zeroing in on the text to do so, making me miss the action.
The colors on the Galaxy also appeared richer, thanks to a screen that uses organic light-emitting diodes, rather than a standard LCD.
All that video can deplete your data allowance in no time.
On the iPhone, the tool for measuring data usage isn't easy to find. You have to choose 'General' in your settings, then 'Usage,' and then 'Cellular Usage.' There's info there on the amount of data sent and received, but no total. You have to remember to manually reset the counter each month on the day your billing cycle starts.
On the Galaxy, 'Data usage' is the third item from the top under 'Settings.' You can tell the phone when to warn you that you're about to reach your cap for the month. You can also automatically disable data usage when you've reached a pre-specified point to avoid extra charges. You don't have to do any math to get the total used, and the counter automatically resets each month. You can also see which apps use the most data.
Before I go further, I'll say a few things about where the iPhone still excels.
- The iPhone has more software from outside parties, extending the device's functionality. Many apps are written only for the iPhone and other Apple devices. Versions for the Galaxy and other Android phones sometimes come months later and lack all of the features.
- The iPhone works better than Android devices in corporate settings. Android, for instance, lacks the tools needed to access Wi-Fi at my office or the corporate email system (though some might consider that a plus for Android).
- The iPhone has Siri, the virtual assistant that hears your voice commands and talks back.
The Galaxy introduces a voice assistant, but she's best described as Siri's forgotten stepchild. The Galaxy couldn't find an Indian restaurant just a block from me, and she gave me the name of a doctor when I asked for Thai restaurants. The Galaxy also lacks Siri's attitude and sense of humor.
Me: "What is the best smartphone?" Siri: "Wait, there are other phones?"
The Galaxy replied with the grammatically incorrect and boring, "Opinion vary but I think Samsung Galaxy is the best of them all."
Here's where the Galaxy prevails:
- As with other Android devices, the Galaxy syncs well with Google services. By signing into a Google account, names, emails and phone numbers from my Gmail contacts are automatically transferred to the phone. The same happens with calendar entries. Apple uses a separate contact and calendar system, not the one I already use through Google.
- You can remove the plastic back cover to switch the battery or insert a microSD card for additional storage of up to 64 gigabytes. The iPhone's battery can be replaced only by a technician, and there's no slot for more storage.
- Both devices have two cameras, including an 8 megapixel one in the back. The Galaxy's front-facing camera does more than take pictures: When you're reading something, the camera will see your eyes glued on the screen, so your phone won't switch to power-saving mode. The iPhone's screen will start to dim if you don't touch it periodically.
- If you're texting a friend and find it easier to discuss something by phone, the Galaxy will automatically call that person when you put the phone by your ear.
- When watching video stored on your device, there's a 'pop out' feature that lets you watch in a smaller window while doing other things such as email and Facebook on the phone.
- The Galaxy's near-field communications technology offers a preview of the future. One day, it could be common like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. With it, I'm able to share photos and video simply by tapping the backs of two Galaxy phones together. I'm also able to make purchases at a handful of stores by tapping the phone to the merchant's NFC reader, as long as I have credit cards set up through the Google Wallet app.
Alas, Google Wallet isn't so useful until more merchants accept it, and the app is only available on the Sprint model of the Galaxy.
Basic sharing features, which let you swap small files, work with some other late-model Android phones. If you tap two Galaxy phones together, you can quickly transfer really big files, such as videos and photos.
All Galaxy models except T-Mobile's will be able to use so-called fourth-generation, or 4G, networks. T-Mobile doesn't have a 4G network, but its 3G network is almost as fast as a 4G network (and indeed, it calls its network '4G').
Current iPhones don't work with 4G technology, though the AT&T version says it does because it uses an upgraded 3G network, much like T-Mobile's. The iPhone coming this fall is likely to support 'real' 4G, using a technology called LTE.
The next iPhone will also have an Apple-designed mapping service with turn-by-turn directions spoken aloud. It's one of the rare instances where the iPhone will play catch-up to Android, which has had Google's voice navigation app built-in since 2009.
If you're an iPhone owner looking for a new phone, I'd wait a few months and make a comparison then.
If you're an Android user looking to switch to an iPhone, the Galaxy offers enough reason to stick with Android. You'll miss out on the cachet of owning an iPhone or the joys of chatting with Siri, but you'll get a solid device with the latest technologies.

Endhukantey premanta movie review

Written By Prashanth kumar Nagati on Friday, June 8, 2012 | 3:12 AM

Story:- Movie begins in 1980 where a simple living Krishna (Ram), degree student deeply admires the traditional looking Sri Nidhi (Tamanna) belonging to a very poor family. Financial problems in the family do not allow Sri Nidhi to express her concern for Sri Krishna. Tragedy strikes in the form of a bus accident by which both Krishna and Sri Nidhi die. Fast forward to 2012, scene shifts to Paris where Sri Nidhi is re-born as Shravanti (Tamanna), a medico and is also a daughter of Indian Embassy Officer (Suman) whose Chief Security Officer is DK (Rishi). In India, Krishna takes re-birth as Ram (Ram), son of a small time businessman Krishna Rao (Sayaji Shinde) who is the head of a very big joint family. Unable to bear the mischievousness of Ram, he is sent to Paris where he meets Shravanti. After a series of incidents, Shravanti drives Ram to Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad. A big twist awaits here. Adhinayakudu review - A political package

Written By Prashanth kumar Nagati on Friday, June 1, 2012 | 11:44 PM

Rating: 3/5
Cast : Balakrishna, Lakshmi Rai, Saloni, Jayasudha,
Pradeep Rawat, Brahmanandam, Murali Sharma, Kota,
Rehaman and others
Directed by : Paruchuri Murali
Produced by : M.L.Kumar Chowdary
Banner : Sri Keerthi Combines
Music : Kalyani Malik
Release Date : 2012-06-01

Nandamuri Balakrishna fans have been treated with Simha
two years ago and the actor is due for another success
since then. His latest film Adhinayakudu has created
enough buzz with few political dialogues and mass masala
content. Did Balakrishna get it right this time? Is
Adhinayakudu a movie worth the wait?
What is it about?
Political rivals of Seema leader RamaKrishna (Balakrishna)
plans to kill him by hiring a professional killer Bobby
(Balakrishna). When Bobby realizes that Ramakrishna is
his father he starts protecting him. But there is a dark
past that separates the father and son. What is that is
revealed in the latter part of the story.
Performances:
Balakrishna gave a marvelous performance in three roles.
His body language for all the three characters in very
different and that shows the greatness of the actor.
However, he should have taken care of the makeup used
for middle aged role and the younger one. Balakrishna
dances with excellent energy and that is a treat to watch.
Lakshmi Rai plays the role of a glam doll. Pradeep Rawat's
villainy is Okay. Kota Srinivasa Rao is good and Murali
Sharma is natural. Jayasudha steals the show in sentiment
scenes. Brahmanandam's funny alien comedy works in
parts. Rest of the cast did their best.
On the Technical Front:
Kalyani Malik's music is passable. Songs in the second half
are good. Background score is alright. Cinematography is
good. Editing is adequate. Dialogues are written by the
director himself and there are ample dialogues to get
whistles from the fans.
Paruchuri Murali handled the scenes on middle aged role
and old age role with great command. Had he taken good
care on the scenes of young Balakrishna, it would have
been much better than what it is now.
Analysis:
First half of the film concentrates on entertainment factor.
Scenes on Balakrishna and Brahmanandam provide comic
relief. Watch out for the introduction scene of
Brahmanandam. Lakshmi Rai provides the mass masala
factor. However the scenes on her have been dragged a
bit too much.
Story gathers pace as the second character of Balakrishna
enters the show. He takes the film to the next level and
the movie reaches a high at the interval point. Second half
is much better with nice family drama and political drama
taking the driving seat.
However, inconsistency in screenplay mars the show.
There is a good scene and it is followed up with a downer.
More or less the graph is same throughout the second
half. Nevertheless it will be liked by Balakrishna fans.
There is not much in offer for families and female crowds.
Masses may like to see Balakrishna in three different
avatars.
Verdict: Adhinayakudu is Balakrishna's show!

Rowdy rathore movie review -- Nothing new

Khiladi Kumar’s version of a moustachioed cop is
appealing, but the formulaic plot makes the film
boring
From the promos and songs of Sanjay Leela Bhansali and
Prabhu Dheva’s Rowdy Rathore , it’s obvious the film is a
done-to-death drama woven around a larger-than-life
hero, except with a different superstar, Akshay Kumar.
Obviously, the film highlights our filmmakers’ desperate
need for a guaranteed success formula at the box office.
But when there have been so many films in the same
genre, shouldn’t writers and directors try to incorporate
some uniqueness and freshness to the over-abused plot?
Rowdy Rathore unfolds in Mumbai, where a small-time
thief, ironically called Shiva (Akshay Kumar) and his sidekick
(Paresh Ganatra) make a living by looting people – from a
policeman to the aam janta . During one such robbery, the
PJ-cracking thief’s eyes fall on the curvaceous, salwar-kurta
clad Paro (Sonakshi Sinha). It’s love at first sight for Shiva.
He not only tricks Paro into believing that she too is in love
with him, but also coolly becomes a part of the wedding
his lady love has come to attend from Patna. The first half
of the film goes into establishing Shiva’s city slick chor
character and his romance with Paro.
Meanwhile, on one occasion he gets into a situation of
mistaken identity. First he is mistaken by a man as his lost
bhaiyya , and then a young girl insists he is her father.
When Shiva tries to find out why the young girl is hellbent
on calling him her dad, he finds a photograph of the girl
with his lookalike. He is a cop, Vikram Rathore.
In the second half, it is revealed that Vikram hails from a
village called Devgarh where he saved people from Babji’s
(played by Nasser) tyranny. Soon after the intermission,
Vikram dies and Shiva takes over as the cop. And he
becomes Rowdy Rathore! Unlike Vikram, Shiva isn’t always
beating and punching the burly goons, he’s quite a city
slicker who slyly destroys Babji’s empire in the village. You
don’t need great imagination to know what happens next
and how the film ends.
Clearly to watch this film you shouldn’t pay attention to
any of those nerves and cells in your body that look for
rationale, ‘coz if you don’t you will suffer.
Sonakshi Sinha’s character is an extension of her role in
Dabangg , and she thankfully has more dialogues in this
on. She is in the film to cast a spell on the hero with her
chikni kamar and scare the villain in the climax scene by
singing praises of her rowdy thief-turned-cop boyfriend.
Akshay Kumar does an able job of playing thief, serious
cop and eventually thief-turned-cop, Rowdy Rathore. His
character is obviously inspired from Salman Khan’s
Chulbul Pandey in Dabangg and Ajay Devgn’s Bajirao
Singham in Singham. The only difference is that Akshay
has enhanced the chor and cop character by adding his
kind of slapstick humour to it.
Rowdy Rathore has all the ingredients that you look for in
a masala entertainer – a larger-than-life hero, a heroine
who looks good and dances well, punchy and funny
dialogues, humdrum situations, loud music, burly goons
and a happy end. Yet it doesn’t impress you. Or maybe if
you are an Akshay Kumar fan and would like to watch his
version of a mustachioed cop, go for it this weekend.

Daruvu Movie Review

Written By Prashanth kumar Nagati on Friday, May 25, 2012 | 4:30 AM

Rating: 3.25/5
Raviteja and Tapsee Starrer Daruvu is all set to hit the theaters today. Raviteja Daruvu is directed by J.Siva kumar and produced by Burugupalli Sivaramakrishna under Sri Venkateshwara Entertainments Ltd. Vijay Antony is the music director of Daruvu movie.
The trailers of Daruvu Movie were impressive and Daruvu movie is touted to be a socio-fantasy comedy entertainer ( Check Promo Song Trailers).
Daruvu gets certificated as U/A by deleting most of the dialogues in the movie (Check Daruvu Censor Cut List ). Daruvu is expected to have all the elements of a spicy movie, Action, Dance Drama, comedy. Apparently they are also the elements which personify Ravi Teja for the actor he is.
Daruvu is expected to catapult the star back to his stardom. At last the Daruvu movie is finally hitting the screens today, Lets See Daruvu Movie Review.
Story:
The story begins with the heroic entry of the Mass Maharaja in the role of petty Thief Bullet raja. Bullet Raja, during one his thieving ventures, comes across actress Tapsee who is learning bhartanyam form her guru Bramhanandam. Bullet Raja (Ravi Teja) falls for this beautiful and talented girl who loves to dance.
He latter on comes to know that he has competitor for his love called Harbor Babu who has convinced Tapsee to marry him. As Ravi Teja gets ready to battle for his love, he loses his life and reaches Yamlokam. Over there he is granted to come back to bhoolokam and then makes his soul enter into the body of another lookalike, who is a corrupt politician, making his mother an unhappy woman.
Now how will Bullet raja win his love? Will he avenge for his untimely death from Harbor Babu? Will he manage to win his mother’s heart back? Hmm… We are not going to reveal these juicy details!! To get them you definitely must watch this movie.
The Actor:
Ravi Teja has excelled in this movie. He not only brought his character to life on screen but indeed made it a larger than life. Everything that he did including, the way he delivered his dialogues, the way he timed his comical acts, his expressions were all taken a step ahead.
This showed that the star gave more than his 100% to this movie. He seemed to have put out his heart and soul to perfect his performance in Daruvu. He has once again proved that he is in all his right the one and only MASS MAHARAJA.
The Actress:

The leading lady did not have much of a role other than that of songs and dance. But she has indeed performed well in whatever was given to her. She also looked good beside Ravi Teja.
Our special mention:
Comedian Bramhanandam was outstanding. He ensured with his impeccable timing of comic that the audience laughed their heads off. It was sheer joy to watch this lively character on screen that set all the funny bones in the audiences tickling and rattling.
The Plus points:
The movie’s comical timings are the ones which made this movie the huge entertainer that it wanted to be. The dialogue exchange between Ravi Teja and Bramhanandam were so very well filmed and drafted that they could never have gone haywire. And to add to this fact the actors themselves set up new standards of acting by giving a brilliant performance.
The Drawback:
The only drawback this movie had was that it was indeed a predictable story. The story did not have anything new to offer. But the way this movie was made and the way the actors carried it off was so good that no seemed to be bothered that they were watching a regular story.
The Director’s cut:
Director Shiva is indeed a man who knows what he wants. He has not only directed the movie to perfection but has used all the brilliant stars to their fullest. This has ensured in making Daruvu a mass film. The director too has excelled in his work, making Daruvu an entertaining movie to watch.
Technical Department:
The music, cinematography, editing were all very well matched. They all have contributed their own bit in making Daruvu the film it is today.
Our final Say:
This movie is an absolute treat for all the fans of mass maharaja Ravi Teja. But apart from that, anyone who has been dying to see an outright comical flick must see this one. They are bound to be entertained to the last minute. So enjoy this lovely comical flick Daruvu –Sound of mass.

Daruvu  with a Tagline of Sound Of Mass lives up to the expectations, go to the theater with mass expectations and you will get paisa vasool mass entertainment. Usually Mass Movies do not convey a Moral Message, but Siva Succeed to Convey his Message with Laughter in a Convincing way.
Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja as Bullet Raja  is at his best and brings laughter through out the movie, the movie runs at a fast pace and enjoys you thoroughly.
Director Siva judged the Mass power of Ravi Teja and as his movies connect well with the mass audience and Siva exploited every bit of his mass prowess in the right way. It’s an age old story but the narration and presentation is new, convincing and refreshing.
The highlight of the movie is the comic satires on politics and politicians , and it’s brings good laughter in the theater.
The movie looks and feels very rich in content and the visuals are very good especially in the songs. Audio is good and has been carrying positive talk , Songs Picturization and locations are very good and are scenic. Taapsee did a good job and her performance is laudable , she is looking very gorgeous and brings in good glamor  quotient.
Kaikala SatyaNarayana as Senior Yama and Prabhu as Junior Yama are entertaining and good ,MS Narayana as chitraguptudu is entertaining. Raghu Babu is Hilarious as a Fake Godman ( Swamy ).
There is a little bit of Graphics and is decent.
Jaya Sudha does a good job as a sincere and honest mother of Ravi Teja who wants her son to follow his Fathers’s foot Steps, Sobhan Babu is shown as the Late Father of Ravi Teja.  The PhotoShop Image of Sobhan Babu and Ravi Teja together looks very convincing . Mother sentiment is brought in well and will workout well with the audience.
Ravi Teja justifies both the roles as a Politician and a small time crook, Vennella Kishore does his part well , Brahmanandam brings in good laughter as a Dance Teacher.
The Movie is targeted for the Mass Audience mainly but will work well with the Family Audience as well. Ravi Teja has a great mass following but also has a good Family Audience following , since there is no vulgarity or indecency Family Audience will also enjoy it. The Emotional quotient is also good enough and comes in the second half of the movie.
Daruvu  is a Winner for Both Ravi Teja and Director Siva. Though there was very little publicity, marketing and promotions, but this movie will get a good word of mouth publicity and will attract audiences.
In Some scenes you will get the Tamil Nadu Mass Flavour, you can call it “Oora Mass” or “Natu Mass”, some might feel that hyper dose of mass, but as the title suggests “Sound Of Mass” definitely justifies it and there is plenty of it.

Summary Analysis : Daruvu Sound of Mass Resounds with Laughter.

Gabbar Singh Movie Verdit
The first half of the movie moves on with an excellent pace combined with good comedy. The second half of the movie is a bit let down with the temp going down compared to the first half. Things have gone a bit haywire in the second half leading to the climax. The climax sequence should have been handled well. However, the movie is really entertaining and is the only movie in recent times which made the best use of Pawan’s energy. Watch it folks!

DAMMU censor report and movie review

Dammu Censor Report (Movie Rating: 4/5)
Dhammu Censor Report
CBFC Rating: ‘A’
Movie Rating: 4/5
On the screen:
The movie starts from some flash back
note which happened long back.
The story turns towards the present
situation and enters the city. The first 40
minutes of the movie goes in an
entertaining way with out and out comedy.
The movie heads to the interval bang with
a mighty twist which is said to be the
turning point of this movie. The interval
bang is the highlight of the movie where
Tarak completely exploded his acting skills
with his roaring performance.
The story starts gripping from the second
half filled with the family emotions. Scenes
between Tarak, Abhinaya and Venu got
well.
Pre-Climax is quite interesting and heads
to the climax with the wild rage of revenge
drama.
Aggressive expressions of Tarak are
fabulous. His expressions are just like
never before and never after.
Climax is extraordinary and finally movie is
going to end with the great applause.
Off the screen:
The movie unit faced some problems from
Censor Board members during some
scenes.
The movie faced 3 audio cuttings totally
which the unit was advised to replace the
dialogues.
The Censor Board members requested to
play the ‘Ruler’ Song for twice as they had
fallen in love with the visuals of that song.
Appreciations received to Tarak from
members for his action. It was said that he
looked more glamorous in ‘Vaasthu
Baagundhe’ Song.
Some scenes in the movie had stolen the
heart of members which were played
twice.
Highlights of the Movie:
No, doubt the first credit should be
awarded to the Young Tiger itself for his
‘Viswaroopam’. This movie is going to be
the another one man show movie of this
year.
Director Boyapati Seenu just rocked away
all the aspects in this movie. There is a
great improvement of comedy in this
movie compared to his previous movies.
‘Ruler’ song is the back bone of this movie.
The visuals of the song are going to be
anther creative wonder in the tollywood.
M.M.Keeravani’s Background music is the
asset of the movie. His high voltage music
during the pre-climax will not make the
audience to sit in their seats.
All the technicians proved themselves up
to their mark.
Interval Twist
Negatives of the Movie:
As NTR has mighty following in the mass
audience, this movie is completely for
them. Though this movie had mixed with
some family emotions over-violence may
affect the family audience.
Trisha just looked like aunty again. Her pair
with Tarak was not too good. Indeed Tarak
dominated her with this glamour itself in
this movie.
Interval Dialogue:
NTR to Nazar: “Charithra ni emana nee
amma kanindhaa raa.. Charithra
srushtinche vaadu epudu cheppi raadu..
Vasthadu….Charithra Srushtishatu..
Vellipothadu”..
Final Word:
Young tiger is back with his mass masala
action for his die hard fans. This movie will
surely satisfy the hunger of Nandamuri
fans who were waiting for mass movie
after Simha.

Racha Movie Review first on NET

Film: Racha
Starring: Ram Charan Teja,Tamanna,Ajmal
Director: Sampath Nandi
Producer: N.V.Prasad,Paras Jain
Banner: Mega Super Good Films PVT LTD
Music: Mani Sharma

3/5
Story
Betting Raju (Charan) is famous for his clever bets, and for earning huge money for a cause he gets into betting with James (Ajmal Ameer) for 20 Lakhs to make the Chaitra (Tamanna), a billionaire fall for him. He comes to the city on this purpose and joins as a medico in a college where Chaitra studies. Finally, Chaitra falls in love with Raj after few incidents. Meanwhile, Ballari (Mukesh Rishi), a powerful mining don enters the scene as Chaitra’s father and where this story leads to is to be watched on the big-screens.
Performances
Ram Charan is terrific in the film. His desperation to score a hit can be seen on screens. Watching Charan’s body language reminds you of Chiranjeevi and the fans will definitely enjoy it. His energy levels are high in fights, dances. Ram Charan sure gets nearer to masses with Racha.
Tamanna looked extremely hot in the film. She is on par with Ram Charan in dances and it’s a visual feast to watch her in Vana Vana song. She has set the screens on fire with her scintillating moves and expressions. Tammu has always been evolving as an actor and she sure seem to be reaching top chair.
Brahmanandam is hilarious as dance master Rangeela, Ali, Jayaprakash Reddy, Dharamavarapu Subramanyam brought few laughs. Parthiban is brief but leaves an impact, Ajamal Ameer is impressive, Mukesh Rishi, Kota Srinivasa Rao turned out good villains.
Technical Analysis
The film is technically brilliant with producers spending lavishly on the product without any compromise. Sameer Reddy’s cinematography is on top notch. The exotic locales are beautiful captured. Mani Sharma’s music is fine with title track and Dillaku Dillaku being ear-pleasing while Vana Vana is shot aesthetically. Background score is an asset again elevating lot of action scenes. Dialogues by Paruchuri Brothers are on expected note. Editing is not smooth, Action sequences are choreographed well.
Plus points:
Ram Charan, Tamanna’s performances
Screenplay
Song Pictursations
Dialogues
Background score
Minus points
Routine & predictable story
Analysis
After the disastrous Orange, Ram Charan took a long break to get back in form and Racha is definitely such a film to prove his capabilities. This time he did not try to experiment but went formulaic to establish himself and is in desperation to score a hit. And Racha worked for this. Sampath Nandi as said earlier, he did not get a great story for Racha but took the maximum care on screenplay and commercial format and tried to elevate the hero’s character. Sampath seem to have kept fans in his mind and his aim was to impress all the fans and he succeeded in it. The songs are the visual feast. Ram Charan has stunned with his dances in Title track and Dillaku, though the latter was in wrong placement. Scenes like Ram Charan doing Shankar Dada MBBS, proposing the lead lady, Charan-Brahmi combo scenes got thunderous response.
The first half of Racha was quite entertaining with good comedy, fights and dances while the second half unfolds the story and the much talked bamboo fight sequence came out well. With a good twists and twirls and a powerful climax, second half turned a good watch.
Content wise, Racha is not a unique one but it does not fail to impress you or keep you engrossed with the good entertainment. And with the long weekend ahead and no big release in the coming week, Racha assures to turn commercial hit.
Final Verdict
Racha is extremely enjoyable to all the fans while it also makes a decent watch to mass masala movie lovers. Watch it!!!

RACHA movie review first on net BY ATOZPULSE

Written By Prashanth kumar Nagati on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 | 9:07 PM

The movie was certified 'A'
by the CBFC. So, coming to the movie let us
have a glance over the movie.

Rating: 3 /5

Brief Story:
The movie is based upon the social
activity which is about the medical
student who fought against the social evils about the flouride problem which
is killing the most of the people in the
society.

Ramcharan is the highlight of the
movie all the way. He made us to
remember Megastar Chiranjeevi in
Gangleader.

Tamanna is gorgeous and amazing her
glamour is another plus for the movie.
Comedy in the first half is good.

Title song and Vana Vaana Velluvaye
song are picturized well.

Comedy is all the way in the first half
which made the audience to expect
higher for the second-half.

The story starts getting its grip from the
second half and movies to pre-climax.
Having too many villains in this movie
each of them had got their own identity
and they had got some scope of doing
some comedy.

Dialogues are good.

Scenes between Cherry and Azmal are
good. The car chase is said to be one of
the highlight scene of the movie.

Pre-Climax 45 minutes is superb and
picturized well.

Negative Points :
Having too much comedy in the movie
had affected the story which turned to
be silly comedy.
This movie suffers from "Magadheera"
too. Though the movie is good there is
a danger of getting report of average
review by audience.
Finally Racha is going to be tasty soup for Mega
fans who are going to taste full meals like
GabbrSingh after it.

Kannada Review: 'Sankranthi' is boring

Written By Prashanth kumar Nagati on Sunday, March 4, 2012 | 12:32 AM

Kannada Review: 'Sankranthi' is boring

Hyderabad: Film: 'Sankranthi'; Cast: Gururaj,
Roopashri, Sreenivasa Murthy, Shankar Aswath,
Master Hirannaiah, Bhavya, Vijaya Kashi, Mandya
Ramesh, B.V. Radha, Mallesh, Shankara Patil,
Skanda; Screenplay-Director: Mussanje Mahesh;
Producer and Story: RS Gowda; Music: Sreedhar
Sambhram; Camera: Cinetech Soori; Dialogues: BA
Madhu; Rating: *
'Sankranthi', produced by RS Gowda, should have
been made nearly four or five decades ago as the
storytelling pattern, mannerisms of artists, technical
work and even the music compositions remind you
of the films of the 1960s and 1970s.
'Sankranthi' ends up as 150 minutes of unbearable
torture. Everything starting from the story,
narrative, song picturisation and dialogue delivery is
old-fashioned. The so-called comedy sequences are
just buffoonery and end up irritating the viewer.
Sadly, it is poorly made despite the presence of a
large number of artists. Also, its illogical
presentation has many loopholes.
In the late 1990s, Gowda made a sentimental rural
flick titled as 'Thavarige Baa Thangi', which went on
to become a big hit. In the last few years, Gowda
has been heaping on such sentimental stuff to the
Kannada audience regularly, and failing in his
attempts continuously.
He writes his own stories with a number of
situations looking similar to what was found in
'Thavarige Baa Thangi'. But in 'Sankranthi', he has
moved a step ahead and has taken inspiration from
several Kannada films including 'Ondhaagonaa Baa'
and 'Nanjundi Kalyana'.
There are too many major mistakes in the film to
add up to the viewers' woes. For some of the film's
portions, which should have been shot abroad, the
producer has shown courage to shoot those
sequences in some landmark locales like the Nice
Road in Bengaluru. It is easily identifiable.
Except for the picturisation of the songs and a few
exterior sequences shot in Bangkok, the other
sequences shot in a city like Bengaluru is easily
identifiable to even outsiders. And there are many
reactions of the artists which are cut and pasted a
number of times for some important sequences,
which make them repetitive.
The story is about Surya Prakash and Bhoomika,
who meet each other in Bangkok, where they start
loving each other after some initial hiccups. They
carry sweet memories of their relationship.
Surya returns to India where he learns that his
mother is separated from her kith and kin because
of her love marriage with his father. Surya wants to
unite the two warring families separated for more
than two decades. He goes to a village where his
mother's close relatives live in a big house - all
united and ready to strike if their family is at stake.
He wins the hearts of his maternal family members.
Meanwhile, Bhoomika being the daughter of his
mother's elder brother comes to the village along
with her father to join the big family. When
everything is running smoothly for Surya, who also
gets a nod to marry Bhoomika, he faces a big
problem when some of the family members refuse
to forget the past.
They continue with their hostility towards their
sister who had eloped with her lover some two
decades ago. How this conflict is resolved forms the
rest of the story.
Gururaj, the son of talented actor Jaggesh has to
learn a lot about acting. But a film like 'Sankranthi',
where the story writer and director have made
several crucial mistakes, hardly leaves any scope for
him to perform.
Roopashri is lost in this mindless film, though she
adds some glamour quotient.
All the veteran actors have either overacted or have
just repeated some inane dialogues and
mannerisms which looked good only in the 1970s.
Cinetech Soori's camera work is just average, while
'Nenape nenapaayithu' is a good song composition
from Sreedhar Sambhram.
The film is too lengthy and really needed some
sharp cuts.
Movie critics had to bear with a film like
'Sankranthi', but the audience is suggested to keep a
safe distance from theatres screening the film.
